I totally agree with suwesh, getting powerful gear means having an easier time with difficult maps, and a higher turret range would naturally come with more powerful gear. There was no really polished strategies for end game, tower range in particular just made it too easy. If they bring back turret range it will completely remove the idea of strategic placement from endgame, like it does in DD1 and DDE, basically once your stats were high enough all you had to do is place one fat stack of auras and a stack of towers around the crystal so they could reach everything, buff beam then easy GG. Really what I am asking for is variability/customization in towers and their function.Īt the end of the day, a projectile will be shot and an enemy will be killed I just want a little more flavor. It would be impossible to build turrets and AFK, because too many enemies would slip past the sniper towers. Not to mention, it would just feel really fricken cool to set up a pack of long range turrets and watch enemies get picked off, and swoop in to clean up the stragglers. Having a sniper tower, or having the ability to prioritize range rather than power or range and power by sacrificing speed, would add an important dimension to the game. As i seen alot of ppl what it easier and other wants it harder.
